About

33859_609076070393_696550187_n(1)I am the person whose lunch box draws the most comments. I always have something new or different. Sometimes people are impressed, sometimes they think it is gross. For me, food is everything.Β I love working with new ingredients, trying new recipes, and growing new things.

  1. It’s good to “meet” someone who will try virtually anything, food-wise. Too many people these days have too many food issues. Life is too short to not taste it fully! Greetings from north of the Artic Circle…where we have tasted frozen sea grasses and bowhead whale meat. πŸ™‚

  2. Wish I could try your recipe for homemade vanilla extract… alas, no alcohol allowed in our village in bush Alaska… Sounds superb!

  3. I just found your blog, but so far I’m impressed and excited to see what else you have on here. I too love to experiment in the kitchen, and try new things.

Your photos are wonderful! What kind of camera do you use? I would love to have better quality photos to share on my blog, but I am useless when it comes to what most of the buttons on my camera do, and usually the closest camera is my iPhone… Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

    • I use a Nikon D5000. The only trick I use is natural light if possible. My summer photos are way better than the winter ones just because the day is so short. I am going to borrow a friend’s tripod. Should be interesting to see if it changes the quality of the photos. What kind of camera do you use?
