Best known for the location of John Brown’s raid at the beginning of the Civil War, Harper’s Ferry is located between the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers where Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia meet. The Appalachian Trail passes right through the town; the Appalachian Trail Conservancy is also located here.
The rail bridge over the Potomac River.
St. Peter’s Catholic Church, the only church in town to survive through the Civil War.
Some beautiful flowers in the church yard. Any idea what they are? I would love to have some in my yard.
The best view in town… This is one of the most beautiful towns I have ever visited.
That’s not far from where we grew up in Md. Very nice photos.
Oh, what a glorious day this was!!!
I’ve been through Harper’s Ferry once and it is indeed a beautiful town. I love the pictures of the church; what magnificent architecture.
