Everyone has heard the saying, “You are what you eat”. I totally agree. I have been running around so much lately that I haven’t had time to cook anything. I find it hard to find healthy things at the fast food places that are so tempting when you are on the run. As a result, I feel sluggish, bloated, and in need of a good salad.
I am not a mother. I cannot even begin to imagine how hard it must be to work full time and still try to feed your kids healthy, quick things. No wonder McDonald’s is so tempting.
Recently, I ran across an article discussing kid’s school lunches. It reminded me of a conversation with my mother-in-law (a public school employee) who was complaining that all her school served was pizza, hot ham and cheese, and the like. I wondered how we, as a society can complain about obese children when we expose them to poor quality food at every moment. School lunch, McDonalds, chicken nuggets, french fries, sugary cereal… ICK!

It just grossed me out! I want real food please!
I hope, as a mother, I am able to find a way to feed my children quick and healthy stuff. Cheers to all the mothers who do!
